IT & Cloud Support

Helping people and small businesses get more from Microsoft 365 and modern IT.

I work at Somerton Computing providing hands-on IT support, Microsoft 365 setups, and troubleshooting. Outside work I run a homelab to deepen my skills in cloud, identity, and networking so I can solve problems more effectively.

About

I enjoy taking the stress out of technology for people – whether that’s fixing a stubborn PC issue, rolling out Microsoft 365, or quietly making things more secure behind the scenes.

A bit about me

I’m based in Somerset and currently work at Somerton Computing, supporting local businesses and home users. My day-to-day work ranges from troubleshooting devices and networks to helping customers move to Microsoft 365 and keeping their setups running smoothly.

Before Somerton, I gained experience in both a managed service provider and an education environment – seeing first-hand how different organisations rely on IT and where things commonly go wrong. That mix has made me practical, patient, and focused on doing the basics really well.

In my own time I maintain a homelab to practice technologies like Proxmox, Windows Server, Linux, and Azure. It lets me test ideas safely and bring better solutions back into my everyday work.

Focus areas

These are the areas I’m deliberately improving so I can support people and businesses more effectively.

Cloud & identity
Microsoft 365 & Entra ID

Setting up and managing Microsoft 365 tenants, mail, Teams, SharePoint and basic security settings. Learning more around Entra ID, Conditional Access and secure sign-in practices.

Devices & users
Intune & endpoint management

Exploring Intune and Autopilot for Windows device deployment, compliance policies and keeping endpoints a bit more locked down without getting in users’ way.

Labs & learning
Homelab & networking

Proxmox-based lab with Windows Server, Linux, firewalls and test services. Used to practice Active Directory, backups, networking concepts and generally improve my understanding of how things fit together.

Projects

I like to keep track of the things I build – from small business IT work to my own Microsoft 365 tenant and homelab experiments. You can read more detail on a separate projects page.
